ACTIV’s work on the Oceanograf catamaran

ACTIV’s work on the Oceanograf catamaran

A consortium of Gdynia’s Nauta Ship Repair Yard and Crist Shipyard built a scientific research catamaran for the Institute of Oceanography at the University of Gdańsk. On 24 June 2017 the vessel was officially named Oceanograf. Activ Sp. z o.o. carried out all the outfitting works on the catamaran, which were completed to a “turnkey” standard. Most of the furniture was produced by the Activ Meble company in the factory in Pszczółki.

Oceanograf is a modern and very innovative vessel sailing under the Polish flag, which is intended for interdisciplinary research on the Baltic Sea.

The vessel has been equipped with modern devices which enable bathymetric, chemical, geological and seabed tests. This modern vessel will improve the quality of research.
